Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how flightinsight (the “Site”), operated by Gordon Schoenfeld, handles information when you visit it. Our goal is to collect as little personal information as possible.

1. Information we collect

• Search inputs. The origin airport, destination airport, dates, cabin class, and other parameters you enter into the search form. These are sent to our flight-data partner (Duffel) to retrieve matching results, and where applicable to Seats.aero for award-availability look-ups.
• Local browser storage. Your search-form preferences (default airports, dates, cabin, etc.) are stored in your browser’s localStorage for convenience on return visits. This data never leaves your browser.
• Aggregate analytics. Basic page-view and performance data is collected via Vercel Analytics, which may include a truncated IP address, user-agent string, referrer, and country. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
• Server logs. Standard request logs (timestamp, IP address, request path, response status) are retained briefly for debugging and security purposes.

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or any account credentials, because the Site does not require an account.

2. How we use information

• To return the search results you have requested.
• To remember your preferences in your own browser via localStorage.
• To monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and security of the Site.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not build advertising profiles.

3. Third-party processors

The Site uses the following services, which may receive limited data in the course of providing their service. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:

• Vercel — hosting, deployment, and analytics. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

• Seats.aero — award-redemption data; receives carrier and route look-ups. seats.aero

4. Cookies and local storage

The Site does not use tracking cookies. It does store your search-form preferences in your browser’s localStorage. You can clear this data at any time via your browser settings — for example in Chrome via DevTools → Application → Local Storage. Clearing it resets the form to defaults but does not remove anything from any server, because we do not store any account information about you.

5. Data retention

Search inputs are not retained on our servers after the search request completes. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for operational purposes. Analytics data is retained according to Vercel Analytics’ standard retention policy.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal data about you (for example under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, or California CCPA / CPRA). Because we do not hold accounts or stored personal records about individual visitors, most of these rights are effectively self-service: clearing your browser’s localStorage removes your stored preferences.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can investigate.

8. International users

The Site is operated from the United States. By using the Site, you understand that any information you submit may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
